Oct 25, 2019 at 20:52 comment added Matthew Green I think an important distinction to make is that Investigation implies a more hands-on search than Perception would so it would seem more likely to accidentally activate a trap while Investigating.
Oct 25, 2019 at 17:06 comment added Mad_Joe The nature of traps is slightly abstract - it's not as hard and fast as making an attack and dealing damage. Whether the trap gets triggered or not is entirely dependent on the trap, what triggers it, and what the characters do around the trap. If they take the action that triggers the trap, the trap is triggered.
