It seems what you want to build does everything Kwalish does, just bigger and better, and I'll look into some meaningful and objective ways to do this.
Jun 9, 2020 at 20:23 | comment | added | just a guy | I'm sorry I wasn't more clear in my Ask post. We want to make a massive homebrew submarine and wanted a rough price and time estimate. Also is there is any precedent for something like this considering its size? If we can pull this off, we want to try to conquer a portion the elemental plane of water and become nobles in the court of the Padishah of the Marids. We would be spending a long time in the submarine!
Jun 9, 2020 at 18:43 | comment | added | Dan B | +1: although the apparatus of kwalish is not a direct replacement for the submarine OP wants, it's a valuable precedent to look at as OP thinks about the homebrew item they will build.
Jun 9, 2020 at 17:21 | comment | added | NotArch | Cute, but something significantly bigger would also not be the current Apparatus. Level, cost, etc. would be different. The listed Apparatus is the listed item. ANything different would become homebrew and no longer be the same.
Jun 9, 2020 at 17:19 | comment | added | Thomas Markov | In the movie 2012, the crew stands aghast at the size of Yuri Karpov's plane, he looks at the kid and says, "It's Russian". OP could build the Russian Apparatus of Kwalish.
Jun 9, 2020 at 17:15 | comment | added | NotArch | Up to you, but OP also said they want something galleon-sized, which really isn't this at all. It's less frame challenge and more of an alternative that doesn't fit the requirements.
Jun 9, 2020 at 17:14 | comment | added | Thomas Markov | Since the best direct answer (which you provided) is "we can't really help you", this frame challenge seemed like the next best thing.
Jun 9, 2020 at 17:10 | comment | added | NotArch | OP is wanting to build the submarine listed in their question, though. This is a reasonable frame challenge, but i'm not sure it's totally helpful.
