Aug 9, 2020 at 2:20 comment added user31662 You might add/emphasize the fact that Green-Flame Blade specifically refers to a "target" and a "different creature" that is therefore not a target.

Aug 8, 2020 at 19:23 comment added Ryan C. Thompson @SamLacrumb GFB has 2 targets, but the attack roll of GFB has only 1 target. (It's a good question though, since that's a subtle point.)
Aug 8, 2020 at 15:40 comment added Sam Lacrumb The 1st time you hit with a melee att. According to Crawford gfb targets 2 creatures simultaneously which is why it cannot be twined. That is why I suspect that RAW it applies to both simultaneously hit targets that were hit based off a single dice roll. Absorb elements says the target not one target. Sonit still could be read as both?
Aug 8, 2020 at 14:51 comment added Exempt-Medic Oh we actually have these questions already: "Does Green Flame Blade and Sweeping Attack combo cause the bonus effect of GFB to hit again?" and "Can green flame blade, slashing flourish, and sweeping maneuver be combined for a massive sweeping attack?"
Aug 8, 2020 at 14:46 comment added Ryan C. Thompson @Medix2 Yeah, I think Sweeping Attack is worded like that specifically to avoid counting as either a 2nd attack or a single attack against 2 targets. The extra damage essentially works the same as Green-Flame Blade but with an additional condition.
Aug 8, 2020 at 14:44 comment added Exempt-Medic There are the Battle Master Fighter Sweeping Attack Maneuver and Sword Bard Slashing Flourish, though their wording is... Complicated
