Aug 11, 2021 at 18:49 | comment | added | ucbpaladin | To answer @Someone_Evil, not so much system specific, probably some variety of OD&D / OSR variant in the near future, as DM. In essence, I'm interested in a quick, reality-based framework for deciding what PCs should get in exchange for loot. There are some old Runequest articles related to this, but I have the feeling they're too generous to the players. I've seen 50% of retail prices frequently quoted as what PCs might get, but have the sense that the reality would be more like 10% if they were lucky. Maybe 0% plus arbitrary arrest. Sorry it was off-topic, the intent really is for RPGs.

And which site you ask will probably depend on what kind of answer you're looking for. Since you've asked here to begin with, is there a particular RPG use you were intending to apply this to? I ask, because there may be a very good question in that, but it'll at least require some more info.
Aug 9, 2021 at 21:19 | comment | added | Mołot | @ThomasMarkov I suggest worldbuilding.stackexchange.com because, historically, "adventurers" were hardly a thing, and worldbuilding guys are great at extrapolating from reality.
Aug 9, 2021 at 21:18 | comment | added | Cooper | I'm agreed with the others here, but seconding Thomas' suggestion to check with worldbuilding or history. Alternatively, if you're trying to workshop something, feel free to join us in chat!
