Also, why do you need this "incentive?" If you've discussed your world with your players and they still want to play a tiefling in spite of the prejudice, it sounds like they'd have to role-play with it anyway, as you'd be acting as prejudiced NPCs.

Oct 4, 2021 at 21:21 | comment | added | KorvinStarmast | You don't need to bribe people with special abilities in order to role play. Have you ever DM'd before in this system? Have you ever GM'd before in any system? Why I ask this. Your question looks to me like "I am new at DMing and I need some tips" (which we all go through at one time or another) but it may be that this particular situation is, for you, a first time thinking through this kind of scenario.

Oct 4, 2021 at 17:41 | comment | added | Ryan C. Thompson | I think it would also help to give some more information on how this random fireball ability is meant to interact with the prejudice that exists in this world. Is the intent that tieflings as a race have out-of-control magic, similar to a wild magic sorcerer, and therefore people fear them due to the risk of a magical accident (like a fireball in a tavern)? In other words, is it your intent to set up a world where the prejudice against tieflings is (at least partially) justified?

Oct 4, 2021 at 13:55 | comment | added | Gandalfmeansme | Is there a mechanical effect that happens when "NPCs with prejudice... fear her more"? If so, what is it? And what would cause her to "lose control of her magical abilities"?
