Dec 9, 2022 at 19:44 comment added KRyan @PlayPatrice Ah, I see. Unfortunately, with just one floating feat, you can’t dig very far, and only being able to swap once per day limits your ability to pick situationally. I can’t think of any particularly notable options for that. The only thing that really comes to mind is Combat Expertise for the various Improved _____ feats, but frankly Improved Trip is the only one worth worrying about anyway...
Dec 9, 2022 at 19:39 comment added Play Patrice What I mean is taking a hard feat to use the floating feat to dig into the chain as needed. Not the other way around. Should I alter my question to make that a bit more clear? But as allways, thank you for the awnser!
Dec 9, 2022 at 19:35 comment added KRyan @PlayPatrice I would recommend not rooting any feat chains in the floating feat, because then swapping the floating feat is going to mean losing access not just to one feat, but multiple. There may be a few cases where a feat has a prerequisite but doesn’t, itself, require its prerequisite’s prerequisite, which you could then safely get with the floating feat and even if you couldn’t use the prerequisite you’d still have it for the sake of the final feat. But feats usually list all of the feats in the chain in their own prerequisites, to the point that exceptions may be oversights.
