Aug 30, 2013 at 20:42 comment added Ellesedil Unfortunately, the rules as written don't seem to allow you to make that conclusion for trick shot. It may have been the intent, but who really knows? There's at least a very easy solution, even if it costs a feat to do so. It might also be beneficial to post this question to a place where Paizo will be able to review it.
Aug 30, 2013 at 20:12 comment added Can Canbek The errata confuses me, you see I think the only reason you can use dex modifier on CMB without the feat you mentioned is that, with finessable weapons and weapon finesse, you use your dexterity on attack rolls and you perform disarm, trip etc with your weapon so, it's basically a weapon attack. but with a ranged attack you use your dex already and it feels like you should use your dexterity in place of strength on a combat maneuver with a bow.

Aug 30, 2013 at 18:36 comment added Ellesedil I believe the Weapon finesse errata is only mentioned in the question to establish a precedence of using dex mod to add to combat maneuver roles. The real question is to determine if Trick Shot allows you to add dex mod instead of str mod when normally attacking with a bow already uses dex.
Aug 30, 2013 at 17:51 comment added Phill.Zitt @CanCanbek Using the DEX mod does not make it a 'finesse' weapon. The Errata specifically names 'finessable weapons'. I am confused by your confusion.
Aug 30, 2013 at 15:47 comment added Jacob Proffitt Indeed. Frankly, I'd limit the amount of Str you can add to the CMB by the Str rating of a composite bow (and remove it entirely if you weren't using one).
