Rollback to Revision 1

Jul 23, 2015 at 17:53 | comment | added | SevenSidedDie | @thatgirldm Their unstated goal could still easily be non-mechanical, and that research is just how they assumed they'd have to solve it. We do need the OP to clarify this before well-meaning voters reopen the wrong question, so I'm rolling back. @DJM1991, for an example of what a clarified question could look like (given an assumption about your intent), look at this version of the question. Let us know if you're looking for rules effects of weight (like that) or permission to decide a character's weight, so we can un-hold this. Thanks!
Jul 23, 2015 at 16:39 | comment | added | thatgirldm | @mxyzplk I took OP's mention of investigating the BoVD and the PHB weight section to mean they wanted to know about any potential mechanical effects. I agree, I'd prefer OP to chime in, but wanted to put in a model for what we mean by "clarify your specific problem".
Jul 23, 2015 at 16:01 | comment | added | mxyzplk | I'm not sure I like the edit, it assumes he wants mechanical representation while the real question is does he want mechanics per se, or is he just looking to "be fat?" I'd like the OP to chime in and not someone on his behalf...

Edited to make question more clear.

Jul 23, 2015 at 14:25 | comment | added | KorvinStarmast | @DJM1991: Is your question "can I port the 3.5 Book of Vile Darkness" obese kit into 5e, or are you just using that as an example of how that characteristic, obese, can have an ingame impact and want to support your idea for implementation into 5e using 5e as is?

Jul 23, 2015 at 12:23 | comment | added | Miniman | I've voted to close as unclear for now - why do you think people can play as gelatinous cubes? And the Book of Vile Deeds is a 3.5 book, so I'm not sure why you're mentioning it either.

Jul 23, 2015 at 12:08 | comment | added | Erik | What do you want your obesity to mean to your character? If you just want to be fat, just say "My guy is fat" and pick the upper limit of available weight for your class +20% extra and that should be enough, right?
