You practice set patterns that are known to be effective to some degree or another, and then you move on to more complex patterns, before finally breaking free of most of the patterns in order to apply the most appropriate solution to the problem. 'railroading' is simply one of those early steps on the path. It's only a problem when someone enforces such a method when it is no longer needed or appropriate. | |
