2019 Moderator Election

Hi everyone! I am linksassin and would love the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.

I will admit I haven't been around that long, but in the time I have been here I have been a consistently active user on main site, meta and chat. Joining this site has been a constant positive learning experience for me and I can only see that continuing if elected moderator.

I know that I won't be perfect if elected, but if given the chance and time to grow into the role I think I can be a valuable addition to an already great moderation team. I am based in Melbourne Australia and have a different timezone to the current moderators. I interact with a different cross-section of users and would be available to handle flags and situations quickly.

Since joining the site I have made it my mission to be as welcoming and supportive of new users as possible. Most of my comments are welcome messages and suggestions for improvement. I think this is one of the best communities around and will do anything I can to help it grow.

There are several great nominees for this election and I believe this experience will be valuable for me, regardless of the result.

Good day, everyone! I am JohnP, and I would like to offer up my candidacy for the moderator election.

I've been active on the site for quite some time, mostly in a learning capacity as my knowledge is mainly in older editions of D&D. One of the things that I like is that in an area of potential contentiousness (i.e. human interaction games) the site has always maintained very high standards and enforced them in an even handed manner.

I do not think my rep score is reflective of my potential contributions as a moderator. I am on SE in general on fairly close to a daily basis, and I have moderator status on three other sites, including one from private beta to now, which also included a major scope change.

One of the most important aspects of the moderation position is listening to the constituency. While there is an occasional need for the mod hammer, quite a bit of the position is merely enforcing the rules that the community agrees upon. This is done through the voting process and discussions on the meta site.

I believe that I would be a good (and in time excellent) moderator for RPG.SE, and I look forward to the chance to serve the community!

Hey everyone! I'm V2Blast. I'd be interested in serving as a moderator on RPG.SE.

I've only been active on the site for about a year and a half, but I believe I've made a positive impact on the community in my time here. I've come to greatly appreciate the collaborative culture of this stack. I'd like to help RPG.SE maintain the quality that it's known for (that I know it for, anyway).

I have several years of community moderation experience under my belt, mainly on a number of communities (some RPG-related) on Reddit and Discord. I enjoy cultivating communities around things I enjoy and helping them grow.

I think one of the most important aspects of being a moderator is communication. It's important to stay in touch with the community you lead, and it's just as important that you understand them as it is that they understand you. Even when people disagree, it's valuable to be able to work together with each other to improve the community as a whole.

The current mod team has, by and large, done a good job of making RPG.SE a high-quality Q&A site while remaining welcoming, but we can always improve as a community. I hope to work with you all to keep making RPG.SE better.

Hi! I'm Rubiksmoose and I'd be honored to serve as a moderator if the community sees fit to elect me.

I've been a very active member for a few years and this site is a place I deeply treasure, well beyond my passion for the RPG hobby.

I think I have what it takes to be a good moderator around here: I'm patient, always eager to help in any way, confident in my abilities, and driven to learn and improve from every interaction. When I make a mistake, I own up to it and do my best to make it right. When things get sticky, I'm willing and capable of dealing with the issue even if it involves invoking the rules.

And, most importantly, I hope my actions so far on this site have already shown this to be true.

I love helping new and experienced members better understand the site and to hear and learn from their experiences and sticking points to learn how to improve the site for everyone. And really I love showing a patient, warm face on a site that, especially to new users, can come across as cold and mechanical.

No matter how you vote, I look forward to serving the community as best as I can.
