Charisma (natural charm) is a primary stat for them.
They hit better than an arcane caster but not as well as a normal melee front-liner like a Fighter or Barbarian.
They have some spells that are arcane in nature but a good chunk are mainly buffing or supportive and limited healing.
They have access to buffs that no other class does that they can bestow upon the party.
