I think you're intending to put the target in the position of deciding to take the damage or stand still and be out of the fight for a turn, which is an excellent idea.

I'm more asking because the monster has no motivation to move and take the extra damage if it's still standing next to my character after booming blade, so the object is to move him to force the choice.
