I have seen that under each different discipline on the tome of battle there is a list of associated weapons. My question here is if these are flavour based, or do you actually need a weapon of the list to use stances and maneuvers of that discipline?

More info: I am building a Warblade and I am interested in using the Diamond Mind and the White raven disciplines. If you see the associated weapon lists of each of these disciplines, they do not share a common weapon. Will I need to be changing between greatsword and bastardsword for example, in order to use the different disciplines?
